Join us on Saturday, March 1st, at 7:30 PM for an enchanting evening of Violin Duos at Lincoln Recital Hall, Portland State University. Featuring Tomás Cotik, PSU Violin Professor and internationally acclaimed recording artist, and special guest Chiara Morandi, distinguished violinist and concertmaster hailing from Italy. The program includes Spohr’s Duo for Two Violins in D Major, Op. 67, selections from Bartók’s 44 Duos for Two Violins, and Prokofiev’s Sonata for Two Violins in C Major, Op. 56.
Chiara Morandi, celebrated for her vibrant artistry and teaching, has performed as a soloist and with eminent orchestras across Europe, including Teatro alla Scala and the Orchestra della Toscana. She also serves as a professor at the Istituto Musicale “P. Mascagni” in Livorno.

The Rooster and the Fox was a product of an ambitious collaboration between Chamber Music Amici and the talented Eugene composer and violinist Colin Pip Dixon during the COVID era. We are thrilled to present this meaningful piece for a live audience again. And of course, Shostakovich’s Piano Quintet will be a wonderful compliment to the program!
